It does a good job on the bare floors as well as the carpet. I like the features of this vacuum - the light, washable filter, hand held vac, and the power.

Searched endlessly to find a replacement. Ordered a Shark cordless with the dirt canister at the handle, similar to the Dyson. Great day in the morning that thing was sooo heavy, I immediately boxed it up and off it went!! Years ago I owned an Electrolux vacuum that I dearly loved so went to their website. Finally decided to try again and ordered a lightweight cordless one. Words cannot describe how I LOVE this little lightweight thing!!! However, don't think it's weight has anything to do to its suction capability! It is amazing. To make sure I'm actually picking enough up, I cleaned out the filter, my answer was immediate. It was literally filled with dirt!! Each time I use it I take the time to clean it out before placing it on the charger. Look NO further for a small, lightweight, cordless and an awesome "dirt picker-upper"!!! Added plus is that it was delivered really quick.
