I don't hear it anywhere in the house, not even downstairs. It gets the clothes clean and fresh. There are many options for washing. The dryer is also very good, but some loads come out with damp or not-quite-dry clothes when on an Auto setting, which I've found to be the case with every other dryer I've every had. I would buy these again in a heartbeat!
